All-Star Fanfest

Today was our 2nd wedding anniversary.  What better way to spend it than going up to the Cities and enjoying the All-Star FanFest and the Futures All-Star Game.  We had a blast today!  The All-Star game is in Minneapolis this year and all week they have activities that lead up to the event.

At the Minneapolis Convention Center they have what they call FanFest.  There are so many awesome things to see and do there.  We had so much fun!  Outside of the Convention Center they had statures of all the characters from Charlie Brown dressed up in different Twins uniforms or All-Star gear.

Once we got inside, there were tons of things to do.  They had a mini ballpark for kids to play a game of baseball.  They had an area where you could practices sliding into base and another area where you could dive for a ball and they would take a picture of you, like you were an actual All-Star.  Laramie and I tried the batting cages.  Lets just say there will only be pictures of Laramie posted…I need to stick to other sports :)

Parker was having a blast too.  I think he was more into the people watching…

Parker even got his own All-Star Louisville Slugger bat with his name engraved in it.  Lucky little boy... no, he is not spoiled :)

They also had all the trophies there including the World Series trophy.

We had a great time at FanFest.  Now its off to the Future's All Star Game.

We got to the game with plenty of time to spare.  It allowed us to walk around and get some pictures.  We were also able to watch batting practice.  The Futures All-Star game is for the players in the A, AA, and AAA league that are the up and coming stars for the teams the represent. 

However, here is what Parker thought of the game…hahaha.

We had a great time today and Parker got to experience his first All-Star Game week.  We decided that sometime in the future when he is grown up a bit, we are going to go to another All-Star game so he can experience all the fun activities at FanFest.

Can't forget the last stop with the statue of TC.  (For some reason I kept calling it Cubby Bear…I have to remember that we are in Twins Territory, not the Cubs)
