Oh my gosh, my little baby is 1. I feel like it was just yesterday that my little peanut was born and Laramie and I were starting this new adventure of parenthood together. A year later, we are busier than ever trying to keep up with our busy little guy.
This past weekend, we had Parker's birthday party. Friends and family were invited and we had a great time. Of course, I totally went overboard on the decorations, but loved doing it!
He had a great time opening up all his presents, or more like, he enjoyed pulling out all the tissue paper out of the bags or ripping the paper off the boxes.
Now came the cake smash. As a mom, you have this picture perfect vision in your head on how this is going to go. Your child is going to love the cake, dig into it, smear it all over their face and there will be frosting everywhere. Sounds like a reasonable expectation right? Well, lets just say the cake smash was a complete failure!!! Parker hated all the frosting in his hands and just cried.
After some calming down and clean up, we finally got him to enjoy a cupcake with only a little bit of frosting.
Today is Parker's actual birthday. Laramie and I took the day off and spent it playing with Parker. We played with all his toys that he got at his birthday party and he opened up a few more that we had for him and then had some cupcakes.
Happy 1st Birthday Buddy! We love you lots!
