New York City

As noted in the last post, Laramie and I were out on the East Coast this weekend and stayed in Boston two nights and then headed to New York City on Saturday morning.  We took the train down, which was kind of neat and came right into Grand Central Station.  We had tickets for the Yankees game that afternoon, so we quickly got checked into our hotel and then got back on the subway and headed to Yankee Stadium.  The last time we were in NYC, we had gone to see the last season in old Yankee Stadium.  Now we were here to see the new one!

Saturday evening, we headed down to Times Square and walked around and then went out for dinner.  It was a beautiful evening when we left the hotel, but when we got done eating it was pouring rain.

On Sunday, we headed down to the 9/11 Memorial.  The last time we were in NYC they were still in the process of building everything and the Freedom Tower was just getting started.  The memorial was beautiful and I would highly recommend going if you are ever in NYC.

Surrounding both the South Pool and the North Pool are names of the individuals that died that day.  I took this picture which I thought was pretty neat.  Someone had placed six roses in one of the names.

After we were done visiting the 9/11 Memorial we went down to Battery Park to see the Statue of Liberty from the harbor.

After we were done in the Financial District, we headed back towards Time Square.  Now since we had been to NYC before, we wanted to do something we had never done, before heading back home that evening, so we headed to the Top of the Rock in Rockefeller Center and went to the very top.  The view was amazing!

We had a great time on our quick little trip to Boston and NYC.  This will probably be the last vacation that we take before the baby arrives!
